
Archivists without Borders was set up about middle 1998, at the city of Barcelona. It was set in motion by a group of archivists resoluted to compromise in cooperation and solidarity actions’ in the field of heritage and records management.
The members that make up Archivists without Borders are mostly archivists that contribute with their professional knowledge and experience elsewhere, for example to organizations and entities that due to political, economical or social circumstances don’t have their records properly treated and arranged for their consultation, and at the same time properly preserved as befits documentary heritage.
All people have right to their identity and the preservation of the historical memory of the society where it belongs.
